Voting since 1950 but no one sees our area: Saujiyan resident

Mandi (Poonch), Sep 25: Eighty year old Mohammad Sujan on Wednesday lambasted successive political representatives from Poonch Haveli assembly constituency.

He said that people from border area of Saujiyan are voting from last 50 years but none of the elected representative ever bothered to look into the grievances of the local population.

Saujiyan is a border belt of Poonch Haveli constituency and is located along the Line of Control (LoC).

Sujan, an aged voter, said that he is regularly casting his vote for last five decades and has never missed any election but unfortunately the elected representatives hardly look back towards Saujiyan.

“Our area lacks badly on development front,” said Sujan. He added that electricity, clean water supply, local employment generation, better road connectivity are some of the important public issues that need to be addressed.
