Volleyball tournament concludes at DPL Kupwara
Kupwara, July 29: The final match of the Volleyball tournament organised by Police at District Police Lines Kupwara was played on Monday.
The inaugural match of the tournament was played on the 27th of this month, while a total of eight teams from across the district featured in the competition.
The final match saw Lolab Volleyball Club facing off against Hyhama Volleyball Club. Lolab Volleyball Club emerged winners by defeating Hyhama Volleyball Club in straight sets with a 3-0 scoreline. Mohd Iqbal Lone, captain of Lolab Volleyball Club, was named both Player of the Tournament and Player of the Match for his exceptional performance.
The closing ceremony was attended by the Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Kupwara Ghulam Mohammad Bhat, DySP DAR Kupwara and other officers/officials of District Police Kupwara.
ASP on the occasion said that the aim of these initiatives by the District Police Kupwara, is to engage the youth in constructive and healthy activities, thereby diverting them from the path of drug abuse and other anti-social behaviors. “These events not only help to develop a sense of community and sportsmanship but also contribute significantly to the overall well-being and positive development of the younger generation” he added.
Pertinently, similar volleyball tournaments are being organized throughout the jurisdictions of all Police Stations in the district.
