VIT-AP University appoints Dr P Arulmozhivarman as Vice Chancellor In-charge

Srinagar, Nov 28: VIT-AP University has appointed Dr P Arulmozhivarman as the new Vice Chancellor (In-charge). He took the Office from the outgoing Vice Chancellor Dr S V Kota Reddy on November 21. A visionary academic leader, distinguished researcher, and dynamic administrator, Dr Arulmozhivarman brings with him a legacy of excellence and innovation that aligns with VIT-AP’s commitment to global-quality education and transformative research, said a press release.

With a distinguished academic and administrative career, Dr. Arulmozhivarman has served in several key leadership positions across the VIT group of institutions. Most recently, he held the role of Dean – Academic Research at VIT, Vellore (2021–2025) and previously served as Dean – School of Electrical Engineering (2015–2018), where he played a pivotal role in elevating academic standards and fostering a world-class research ecosystem.

Dr Arulmozhivarman completed his Ph.D. at the National Institute of Technology, Trichy, and served in other reputed Universities before joining VIT, Vellore in 2005. Dr Arulmozhivarman is renowned for pioneering work in product development and translational research, having secured prestigious grants from national agencies such as DRDO, ISRO, BIRAC, DST, and MeitY. His collaborations span top medical and research institutions including Aravind Eye Hospital, AIIMS New Delhi, and Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, USA .
