‘Viksit Vimarsh: Voices of Young Researchers’ held at CUK

Ganderbal, Aug 5: As part of the ongoing Viksit Bharat Yuva Connect Programme (VBYCP) under the theme “Fostering Engagement and Leadership in the Developmental Transformation of India,” the Directorate of Students Welfare (DSW) at Central University of Kashmir (CUK) organised “Viksit Vimarsh: Voices of Young Researchers” at the university’s Tulmulla campus on Tuesday.

The programme featured presentations by research scholars from various departments, showcasing innovations, insights, and interventions aligned with India’s developmental vision for 2047. The event provided a platform for young researchers to articulate academic ideas rooted in real-world challenges.

Dean Students Welfare, Prof. Irfan Aalam, said the scholars went beyond academic theorising by offering practical solutions. “They are not writing papers—but possibilities,” he remarked, stressing the importance of research that addresses pressing societal issues such as climate change, public health, and sustainable development.

The jury for the competition included Er. Zahoor Ahmad Najar (Department of IT), Dr Ramjit (Tourism Studies), and Dr Asif Khan (Department of Convergent Journalism).

Immad ud Din Malik won first prize, followed by Iqra Sajad Khan and Madhumeta, who secured second and third prizes, respectively.

Er. Zahoor Ahmad Najar, in his address, underlined the significance of research with a social purpose. “The hallmark of research should not only be originality but its potential to serve society,” he said, adding that aligning research with national goals promotes collective transformation.

Dr Firdous A. Sofal, Senior Assistant Professor in the Department of Education, conducted the proceedings and remarked that “Viksit Vimarsh is more than just an event—it’s an investment in India’s future.”

The event was attended by Dr Adil Amin Nazki, Nodal Officer-VBYCP, and Youth Welfare Officers Dr Rehana Shawl & Dr Samreena Geelani.
