Vikar alleges conspiracy behind his removal from JKPCC post
Srinagar, Aug 19: Former Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President, Vikar Rasool Wani on Monday alleged that a conspiracy was hatched to prevent him from becoming the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir.
According to a local news agency, KDC, Vikar’s remarks followed his recent removal from the JKPCC leadership position and the subsequent appointment of Tariq Hameed Karra as his successor. The development comes weeks before the awaited Assembly elections, scheduled to take place on September 18.
Addressing a public meeting, Vikar accused certain factions within the party of orchestrating a plan to block his path to the Chief Minister’s office.
“I want to tell you clearly that several forces have been working behind the scenes to ensure that Vikar Rasool does not become CM of J&K,” Rasool claimed. His comments came after he skipped a party event in Srinagar, organised to welcome Karra.
However, Karra explained his absence by citing his travel from Banihal, though senior party members Tara Chand and Raman Bhalla attended the event from Jammu.
