VIJAY HAZARE TROPHY: JKCA’s preparatory camp to start from Dec 20 in Jammu
Srinagar, Dec 12: The Jammu & Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) has released the list of 23 players selected for the Vijay Hazare One-Day Trophy preparatory camp.
The list, as per an official order, includes key performers from recent domestic tournaments, with a blend of experienced campaigners and emerging talent.
Top-order batter Shubham Khajuria, all-rounder Abdul Samad, seamer Auqib Nabi, and top-order batter Paras Dogra headline the squad. The camp also includes wicketkeepers Kanhaiya Wadhwan and Rydham Sharma.
A JKCA official told Greater Kashmir that the Jammu & Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) is set to begin a 3–4 day selection camp from December 20 in Jammu, where the senior selection committee will assess shortlisted players before announcing the final squad for the upcoming Vijay Hazare Trophy.
JKCA officials said the camp will serve as the final evaluation stage for players who have been under watch throughout the Ranji Trophy, Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) 2025-26.
However, the big question looming over the camp is whether Umran Malik will find a place in the final squad. The speedster, who did not feature prominently in Ranji Trophy matches and struggled for rhythm during the recent SMAT campaign, remains a talking point ahead of team selection.
In contrast, J&K’s pace attack head Auqib Nabi is in fine form, consistently delivering with the new ball and supported strongly by Yudhvir Singh and Sunil Kumar, both of whom have impressed with pace and discipline.
All-rounder Nasir Lone will also be closely watched during the camp, with selectors keen to assess whether he can seal a spot in the final squad given his impactful performances in SMAT 2025-26.
The complete list of selected players shared by the JKCA includes Shubham Khajuria, Qamran Iqbal, Yawar Hassan, Paras Dogra, Abdul Samad, Vivrant Sharma, Musaif Ajaz, Kawalpreet Singh, Dikshant Kundal, Shubham Pundir, Basit Nazir, Kanhaiya Wadhwan (wk), Rydham Sharma (wk), Abid Mushtaq, Vanshaj Sharma, Ashwin Murugan, Sahil Lotra, Auqib Nabi, Yudhvir Singh, Umran Malik, Sunil Kumar, Nasir Lone, and Waseem Bashir.
As per the JKCA officials, the camp is expected to streamline preparations ahead of the Vijay Hazare Trophy, and the camp would be focusing on form, fitness, and squad balance.
