Vehicular traffic movement disrupted for 2 hours at Ramsu

Ramban, Aug 07: Vehicular traffic movement was disrupted for a couple of hours after a truck overturned in the middle of the road at Mompassi area of Ramsu on Srinagar- Jammu National Highway on Wednesday.

Official sources said due to the accident both side traffic was stopped at different locations. The truck was unloaded and the vehicle was removed from the road.

Senior Superintendent of traffic Police National Highway Ramban Rohit Baskotra said traffic was restored on National Highway late Wednesday evening.

He said at around 5 pm National Highway got blocked at Mompassi between Ramban and Banihal after a truck turned- turtle in the middle of the road. He said the truck was removed and both side traffic was restored on National Highway on Wednesday evening.

Meanwhile, the Jammu and Kashmir traffic police department issued a fresh advisory for Thursday stating that subject to fair weather and good road conditions light medium passenger vehicles besides vehicles carrying Amarnath Ji Yatra pilgrims would be allowed to ply on either sides on the National Highway.

They said heavy vehicles would be allowed to ply towards Jammu from Qazigund , Kashmir on Thursday.
