VDGs force multiplier in maintaining peace, order: SSP Ramban

Ramban, Nov 5: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ramban Arun Gupta Wednesday held an interactive session with Village Defence Guards (VDGs) at Police Station Ramsoo.

The event was also attended by SDPO Banihal; SHO Ramsoo; ICPP Ukhral; Company Commanders of 12 RR and 23 RR, and the Coy Commander of 166 Bn CRPF.

The session witnessed an impressive turnout as around 800 VDGs from the jurisdiction of Police Station Ramsoo participated.

During the session, SSP Ramban made the participants aware about the emerging security challenges and highlighted the vital role of VDGs as force multipliers in maintaining peace and order.

SSP sensitized them about the adversary’s tactics, including the misuse of social media, and guided them about ways to effectively counter such threats through training, coordination, and vigilance.

The discussion also focused on crime prevention strategies, community vigilance, and strengthening cooperation between police and VDGs.
