On Wednesday, Majid leveled serious allegations at a press conference alleging that there was an attempt to rape a woman and harassment of Kashmir Pandit voters by NC-Congress alliance workers.

Majid said there were attempts of “booth capturing” by Bhat's workes and his close associate, who he said were allegedly harassing the Pandit dominated Ajar villagers to cast votes in there favour.

minor blows and verbal skirmishes were also exchanged between both the workers, following which police swung into action and defused the situation.

In Watapora village, dominated by NC-Congress alliance and Bath's birthplace, Majid alleged there were attempts of “rape” of woman, who supported him.

Bhat in return lashed out at Majid saying, "I am surprised to see people can get that low." He added, "The village (Watpora) is my birth place and people he has referred to are in my relation."

NC- Congress candidate said, "Majid raised a sensitive issue about Pandits, which is unfortunate. There is nowhere in entire state the kind of division he is speaking about."

He added, "No Pandit living here ever since the migration has accused any single Muslim of Bandipora of harming them." He said, "It is unfortunate a contesting politician has racked up the issue and has politicised it post poll day."
