Usman Majid hails public stance against terror attack
Srinagar, Apr 28: Former Minister and Ex-MLA Bandipora, Usman Majid, today hailed the strong public stance in Kashmir against the Pahalgam terror attack.
In a statement, he praised the people for displaying maturity, resilience, and an unyielding commitment to peace and humanity during a critical time. Calling it a "welcome step," Majid emphasised that the response reflected the true spirit of Kashmir and a growing rejection of violence and misguidance.
"I am truly heartened to see how the people of Kashmir have reacted after the unfortunate incident in Phalgam. This shows that the common man is now fully aware of who truly stands with them and who has exploited their emotions for personal and political gain over the past three decades," the former Minister said.
However, he strongly criticised certain political figures and parties who, according to him, are now attempting to position themselves as the saviours of the Kashmiri people.
"Where were these so-called messiahs over the past 30 years when we were striving to reveal the truth and guide our people towards a better future?" Where were you for the last 30 years when we were raising the voice of truth? Where was your so-called concern when the people of Kashmir were bleeding, suffering, and yearning for a real leadership," Majid asked.
He accused these long-standing political actors of misleading the populace, leading to prolonged suffering and stagnation in the region. "It is because of their misguided leadership that Kashmir has endured immense hardships. Now, they claim to have been advocating for the very solutions we have been proposing for decades," he added.
