USING CHILD IN ELECTION CAMPAIGN | Show cause notice served to Mehbooba Mufti

Rajouri, May 5: Authorities in Rajouri have served a show cause notice to PDP President and party candidate for Anantnag- Rajouri parliamentary constituency, Mehbooba Mufti, for using a girl child in election campaign in Rajouri.

A show cause notice has been issued by Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajouri and reply has been sought within 24 hours of issue of notice.

The notice has been issued to Anjum Mirza, PDP's Thanamandi assembly constituency incharge who has been asked to submit reply within 24 hours with warning of registration of FIR if reply is not received. PDP President Mehbooba Mufti has also been asked to submit reply within 24 hours and warned that she can be banned from holding further public rallies and meetings if reply is not received.

In the notices issued by ADM Rajouri Rajeev Khajuria, it has been mentioned that during recent campaign meetings in Rajouri, a girl child was found being used for election campaign which is banned under ECI guidelines and other government directives.

In the order, ADM has asked the PDP leaders including Mehbooba Mufti to submit reply within 24 hours else action shall be taken as per law.
