User enrolment training on NAFIS | 5 day workshop culminates in Jammu
Jammu, Dec 22: National Automated Fingerprint Identification System (NAFIS) enrolment user training programme, which had started at PHQ J&K on December 18, culminated today.
According to a press release, Special Director General of Police Crime A K Chaudhary was the chief guest on the occasion.
While addressing the participants during the valedictory function, he highlighted the importance of fingerprints for law enforcement agencies in investigation and mentioned that the NAFIS is a Pan-India searchable database of crime and criminal-related fingerprints. He laid stress upon the participants to create a quality database of NAFIS and to adopt the web based NAFIS application and latest investigation skills while investigating any criminal case.
On the occasion, Course Participation Certificates were distributed among the participants and feedback from the participants was perceived.
51 officers/officials of Jammu and Kashmir Police from Jammu province participated in the workshop which was designed to equip the participants with knowledge of finger print science, laws related to finger printing, Criminal Procedure Identification Act-2022 and digitisation and processing of the finger prints in NAFIS software.
