Srinagar, July 17: The US Embassy in India has issued a warning highlighting that crimes such as assault, theft, or burglary in the United States can result in the immediate revocation of one’s visa and make individuals ineligible for future US visas. The advisory follows an incident in which an Indian woman was caught shoplifting goods worth ₹1.1 lakh from a Target store in Illinois.

Emphasizing the serious consequences of such offenses, the embassy noted that engaging in criminal activities could permanently block re-entry into the US. The warning urges all foreign visitors to respect American laws and uphold legal standards during their stay.
