Urge Centre to evacuate Indian nationals from Dubai, Qatar: GM Shaheen

Srinagar, Mar 1: The office of the Party President of Janta Dal United JDU G M Shaheen has made an urgent appeal to the Government of India and the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to immediately initiate contingency evacuation measures for Indian nationals residing in Dubai and Qatar in view of the rapidly escalating tensions between the United States and Iran

“Millions of Indians are working and residing in the Gulf region particularly in Dubai and Qatar Any escalation in military confrontation or further airspace restrictions may expose our citizens to grave risks including threats to life livelihood and safe mobility. There is genuine apprehension of humanitarian distress if precautionary measures are not taken immediately,” said Shaheen. JDU reiterates that the safety and security of Indian citizens must remain the highest national priority The Government must act decisively and without delay, he added.
