Uproar in J&K assembly after MLA reveals Rs 15 crore spent on chartered flights in past 5 years
Jammu, Mar 20: Uproarious scenes were witnessed in the Assembly after MLA Shopian Shabir Ahmad Kullay revealed that Rs 15 crore had been spent on chartered flights over the last five years.
Participating in the discussion on the demands for grants for the departments under the Chief Minister, Kullay said that Rs 15 crore had been spent on chartered flights over the last five years.
He further claimed that another Rs 15 crore had been spent on the accommodation of guests.
Kullay urged the government to identify the individuals on whom this whopping amount was spent.
Following his statement, legislators from the treasury benches rose from their seats and demanded a probe into the matter.
They called for the formation of a House committee to investigate the issue, leading to a heated verbal duel between the treasury benches and opposition leaders.
