In a landmark development, Professor Upendra Kaul, Founder Director of the Gauri Kaul Foundation (GKF), has signed a MOU with Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) for the ‘Indian Oil Heart Clinic on Wheels’ project. This initiative aims to provide state-of-the-art, non-invasive cardiology services to underserved populations, bringing essential diagnostic tools like echocardiograms to those who cannot afford them.

In its first phase, the project will operate from Prasad Joo Khan Heart Centre, Hawl, Pulwama and will focus on South Kashmir districts, stressing on early detection and intervention of heart diseases. The primary areas of interest include screening children for rheumatic heart disease, diagnosing infective endocarditis in intravenous drug abusers and early detection of heart conditions in the elderly to reduce morbidity and mortality rates related to cardiovascular diseases.
