UP Govt launches job-oriented skill training for Film City, Jewar Airport projects
Lucknow, Apr 8: The Yogi Adityanath government in UP has started new skill training programs to help young people get jobs in major upcoming projects like the Jewar Airport and the Noida Film City. These programs, launched under the Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission, are focused on fast-growing sectors such as electronic media, entertainment, and civil aviation. The aim is to train the youth with the right skills so they are ready for new job opportunities.
The training is being done in partnership with Sector Skill Councils, experts in different industries, to make sure the courses match what companies are looking for. This move is expected to not only create jobs but also help UP become a trillion-dollar economy in the coming years. The upcoming Jewar Airport is expected to create over one lakh jobs. The Film City project will also boost the entertainment industry in Noida and open up roles in areas like video production, editing, and media management. The government wants to ensure enough trained youth to fill these roles.
Speaking about the initiative, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said the goal is to make the youth self-reliant by offering free training to those between the ages of 14 and 35. The training will help young people find jobs based on their skills, both in technical and creative fields.
So far, more than 14 lakh youth have been trained under this mission since 2017-18. Out of these, over 5.6 lakh have already found employment. Training is available at more than 2,800 centers across the state, and around 3 lakh youth are being trained every year. The mission has also teamed up with 24 major companies and eight placement agencies to give youth better access to job opportunities. This initiative is a big step toward reducing unemployment and helping the state’s economy grow stronger.
