UP CM slams Samajwadi Party over budget issue
Lucknow, Feb 18: On the opening day of the Uttar Pradesh Budget session, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched a sharp attack on the Samajwadi Party (SP), accusing it of double standards in education.
He criticised SP leaders for sending their children to English-medium schools while opposing government efforts to improve education for the general public, instead promoting Urdu.
He alleged that SP’s agenda was to push the country toward fundamentalism, which he said would not be tolerated.
Welcoming the inclusion of local dialects like Bhojpuri, Awadhi, Braj, and Bundelkhandi in Assembly proceedings, CM Yogi reaffirmed his government's commitment to preserving regional languages. He announced the establishment of separate academies for these languages, calling them "daughters of Hindi" that deserve recognition.
Criticising opposition to these languages, he asserted that those against Bhojpuri, Awadhi, and Braj are against Uttar Pradesh’s cultural heritage. He cited the works of Saint Surdas in Braj Bhasha and Tulsidas’s Ramcharitmanas in Awadhi as examples of their spiritual and literary significance.
