‘Unka Jo Farz Hai Woh Ahle Siyasat Jaane…’: Neither here for politics, nor to contest polls: LG Sinha
Rajouri, Nov 21: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha Friday reiterated that he was not in J&K to “do politics or to contest polls.”
However, instead of prosaically conveying his significant political message, he turned poetic to subtly respond to his ‘critics’ who would “question his actions and would often accuse him of resorting to politics.”
“Unka Jo Farz Hai Woh Ahle Siyasat Jaane, Mera Paigaam Mohabbat Hai Jahan Tak Pahunche…,” the Lieutenant Governor recited in his address, while chairing an event in Rajouri to kick start the prestigious project for the construction of prefabricated houses for the families affected by Pakistani shelling during Operation Sindoor and floods.
Seemingly, this was an oblique response to the “dual control system” jabs of the political adversaries and critics.
“I, along with my administration, am working for the welfare of people and to connect them with mainstream development,” LG Sinha stated, adding that every effort of his administration was aimed at the welfare of masses.
“However, few people question - what is all this I’m doing? I want to reply to them with a couplet,” he stated while reciting the Urdu couplet.
In the same momentum, he asserted, “Naa Toh Main Yahaan Chunav Ladne Aaya Hu Aur Na Maine Rajneeti Karni Hai (I am here neither to do politics nor to contest polls).”
The event was conducted at Saryah Jhangar, which is the last village of India on the Line of Control (LoC).
While addressing gathering, the Lieutenant Governor also enlisted a number of development works taken up for the areas of Rajouri and Poonch.
“I am aware that Rajouri and Poonch witnessed development deficit during 70 years and the promises of development could not be realised and it was the Prime Minister Narendra Modi who spread ray of actual development in this area,” LG Sinha said, while enumerating various mega development projects including Akhnoor-Poonch National Highway upgradation; GMC Rajouri, various bridges and the approval to a number of new road projects under PMGSY.
The Lieutenant Governor highlighted that under the leadership of the Prime Minister, the rapid, inclusive development witnessed across Jammu and Kashmir, including Poonch and Rajouri in the last few years was unprecedented in its pace and scale.
“The people of Poonch and Rajouri faced neglect for decades and suffered from terrorism perpetrated by the neighbouring country. Today, a new ray of development has replaced that dark phase and false promises. For the first time since independence, the people of these two districts are reaping the benefits of the development they have been entitled to. I assure you that this process will continue unabated,” he stated.
