Under CSR, J&K Bank donates school bus to Pinewood School Balakote

Srinagar, Jul 31: In a reaffirmation of its commitment to social responsibility and community development, J&K Bank has donated a 42-seater school bus to Pinewood School at Hamirpur, Balakote in Rajouri.

A statement said that managed by the Indian Army, the school serves children from remote border villages of the Balakote Sector, and the new bus is expected to significantly improve their access to quality education.

The bus was formally handed over during a ceremony at the school premises by J\&K Bank’s Zonal Head (Rajouri) Satish Kumar to Major General Koshik Mukherji, GOC 25 DIV (Rajouri), in the presence of Colonel Sambhav Sagar, Principal of Pinewood School, Dr. Deepak Bakshi, and other senior Army officers. Also present on the occasion were the Bank’s senior officials, including AGM and Cluster Head (Poonch) Aehajaz Ahmed, AGM Sanjeev Kumar Datta, Branch Head (Balakote) Sahil Gupta, and other staff members.

Speaking on the occasion, Zonal Head Satish Kumar said, “At J&K Bank, we believe meaningful CSR is about making a real difference in the lives of those who need it most. Institutions like Pinewood School are engaged in the noble mission of educating children from far-flung border areas. Through this contribution, we aim to support their efforts in ensuring access to education and empowerment.”

Major General Koshik Mukherji expressed gratitude to J&K Bank for the thoughtful gesture, calling it a valuable contribution to the daily lives of students. “This generous donation from J&K Bank stands as a fine example of how partnerships between institutions and communities can create a lasting impact,” he said.
