UK PM to visit India on Oct 8, 9
New Delhi, Oct 4: At the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Sir Keir Starmer, will undertake his first official visit to India on October 8–9, 2025, the Ministry of External Affairs announced on Saturday. During the visit, the two leaders will review progress under the India–UK Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, guided by Vision 2035 – a ten-year roadmap that sets out programmes in trade and investment, technology, defence and security, climate and energy, health, education and people-to-people ties.
On October 9 in Mumbai, PM Modi and PM Starmer will hold discussions with business and industry leaders, with particular focus on the proposed India–UK Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA), which both sides see as central to strengthening future economic ties. The leaders are also expected to exchange views on key regional and global issues.
Both prime ministers will attend the 6th Global Fintech Fest in Mumbai, where they are scheduled to deliver keynote addresses and interact with industry experts, policymakers and innovators. The visit follows Prime Minister Modi’s trip to the United Kingdom in July 2025, and is expected to add momentum to bilateral cooperation. Officials described it as an important opportunity to reaffirm the shared vision of India and the UK for a forward-looking partnership.
