Ujala Cygnus appoints Nitin Nag as MD & CEO

Srinagar, Jul 11: Ujala Cygnus, a prominent healthcare network in Northern India, has announced the appointment of Nitin Nag as its new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer.

As per the statement, Nag brings nearly three decades of experience across the healthcare and IT sectors, having led operations at Cloudnine Hospitals and previously at Manipal Ankur. He is expected to steer the company’s next phase of growth, focusing on expanding access to high-quality, multi-speciality care in Tier-II and Tier-III cities.

Ujala Cygnus, now a 26-hospital network with around 2,800 beds following its partnership with Amandeep Hospitals, aims to address the healthcare gap in underserved areas. These markets often rely on small nursing homes or public hospitals lacking advanced facilities, leading to patient migration to metros.

Backed by General Atlantic and the Amar Ujala Group, Ujala Cygnus follows an asset-light model, partnering with hospitals to scale care delivery.
