Udhampur-Reasi Range DIG calls for heightened surveillance on dissidents ahead of LS polls
Srinagar, Mar 30: Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Udhampur-Reasi Range Mohammad Rayees Bhat on Saturday enjoined upon different ranks of police officers to keep an eye on subversive activities by anti-nationals ahead of Lok Sabha elections.
In a review meeting conducted to take stock of constituency wise preparedness for General Elections for Lok Sabha 2024, DIG Udhampur-Reasi Range discussed all relevant and concomitant aspects viz. security plan for polling locations, polling booth (as per sensitivity of the location), security of strong room, collection/distribution centre of EVM machines, transport and route plan, induction & de-induction, communication plan, law and order, SOP in case of any exigency, surveillance over the activities of OGWs, surrendered/ released terrorists, history sheeters, trouble mongers, misuse of social media, monitoring of movement of polling parties, accommodation of CAPF, security plan for venues of public meetings and arrangement for procession/rallies etc.
During the meeting the directions were issued to the officers to work in close coordination with Civil Administration and other CAPF engaged in the election process in the district for conduct of smooth and incident free General Parliamentary Elections-2024.
The participants were enjoined to focus on keeping an eye over planned subversive activities by anti-national elements, and proper reporting channels by strengthening PCRs was also emphasized.
