U-19 Boxing Championship concludes at Jammu
Jammu, Sep 19: The Department of Youth Services and Sports, Jammu and Kashmir, successfully concluded the Inter-Zonal District Level Boxing Competition for U-19 boys and girls at MA Stadium, Jammu, on Thursday.
Held under the guidance of Director General Youth Services and Sports Rajinder Singh Tara, the event provided a platform for young athletes to demonstrate their skills and compete for top honours.
With approximately 30 participants representing various zones of District Jammu, the tournament was organized with the aim of identifying and nurturing promising talent for future competitions. The event was managed by a team of experts from the department, including Sunil Abrol, Vishal Singh, Jatinder Kumar, William Kumar, Nitin Sharma, Rohit Sadhotra, and other technical officials.
Harvinder Kour, In-Charge DYSSO Jammu, praised the participants for their commitment and encouraged them to maintain team spirit throughout the event. She awarded medals and certificates to the winners and runners-up, acknowledging their hard-earned success.
In the U-19 Boys Finals, Kush Sharma from Zone Jammu emerged victorious in the 48 kg category, while Ansh Digra from Zone Bishnah secured the top spot in the 51 kg category. Naryan Majotra from Zone Jammu claimed victory in the 54 kg category, and Ranveer Singh from Zone Miran Sahib won the 57 kg category. Dhruv Mahajan, Pratham, and Manit Rattan, all from Zone Miran Sahib, dominated the 60 kg, 64 kg, and 81 kg categories, respectively.
