Two terrorists killed as army foils infiltration bid in Kashmir’s Uri

Srinagar, Apr 23: Army on Wednesday said two terrorists were killed after they foiled an infiltration bid along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Uri area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

An official said that an encounter broke out after the infiltrators were challenged in the Uri Nalla area.

“Around 2–3 unidentified militants attempted to infiltrate through the general area of Sarjeevan at Uri Nala. Alert troops deployed along the Line of Control (LoC) challenged the movement and intercepted the infiltrators, leading to a firefight,” he said.

In the exchange of fire, at least two terrorists were killed so far, said the official, adding the operation is underway.
