Two shops gutted in Banihal fire incident

Banihal, June 22: Two shops gutted in a fire incident in main market of Banihal on Sunday evening.

The computer shop of Mohammad Ishaq Naik, son of Ghulam Rasool Naik; and tailoring shop of Jahangeer Ahmed Wani gutted in the fire.

Police said that the timely intervention by Department of Fire & Emergency Services, police, civil administration and NGO Banihal volunteers saved the other shops in the  building and controlled fire well before it spread more.

The gutted shops were closed due to Sunday and the cause of fire is yet to be ascertained.
