Two PDD daily wagers injured while repairing 11Kv line in J-K's Poonch

Srinagar, Oct 18: Two daily wagers of Power Development Department (PDD) were injured Friday after getting in contact of a live wire in Sanai area of Surankote in J-K's Poonch.

Quoting officials, news agency GNS reported that the two daily wagers were repairing an 11KV line when they received an electric shock and were injured.

Both the workers were immediately shifted to Sub-district hospital Surankote for treatment, from there, they were shifted to GMC Rajouri for advanced treatment, the official said.

The injured were identified as Mohd Farooq (48) son of Faqir Mohd resident of Potha and Mohd Khaliq (45) son of Mohd Rashid resident of Sanai.

Following this incident, the families of the injured have blocked the Poonch- Jammu Highway at Sanai and are protesting against what they said was the negligence by the power department.
