Two nomads die, dozens of domestic animals perish as lightning strikes in Reasi

Rajouri, Apr 19: A woman among two nomads lost their lives while dozens of their domesticated animals perished in an incident of natural lightening that hit Jhameri village of Dansal in Reasi district.

The incident happened on Saturday late evening when, amid bad weather conditions, natural lightening hit the area and a nomad family temporarily staying in this area under its seasonal migration came under effect.

Two members of the nomadic family identified as Mohammad Rashid, son of Mohammad Kalu; and Shahbaz Begum, wife of Mukhtiar Ahmed, both residents of Dharote Reasi, died in the incident.

Another woman from the family, whose name is not clear yet, has been shifted to local hospital after her health deteriorated due to natural lightning.

Alongwith this loss, the nomad family has also suffered loss with around 40 of their domesticated animals including sheep and goat perished in this incident of natural lightning.
