Two held for illegal extraction & transportation of minerals in Kulgam: Police

Srinagar, Oct 16: Continuing its drive against persons involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, Kulgam police on Thursday arrested two persons & seized two vehicles.

A police official said that police parties of Police Station Devsar and Police Post Mirbazar have seized two vehicles (Tractor) involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals at Mirbazar and Devsar, arrested both the drivers.

He said cases under relevant sections of law have been registered in Police Station Qazigund and Devsar and further investigation is going on in both cases.

Police reiterated that persons found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt with strictly as per law.
