Jammu, Feb 17: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has stated that his office has asked the concerned officers to investigate the cause of deaths of two persons at Billawar in Kathua district.

“Deeply anguished by the tragic death of two persons at Billawar, Kathua. My thoughts and prayers are with their families during this difficult time. My office is in touch with the local MLA and the concerned officers have been asked to investigate the cause of these deaths,” CM posted on ‘X’.

He said that he was in touch with the local MLA as well on this account.

The Police had recovered the bodies of two persons along the banks of a stream in village Batheri on Sunday.

The Police had identified the deceased as 45-year-old Roshan Lal and 37-year-old Shamsher. According to the Police, strangulation marks were found in the preliminary investigation yet the real cause of death could be ascertained only after the post-mortem.

Police had registered a murder case in this connection.
