Two drug peddlers held with contraband substance in Srinagar: Police
Srinagar, Dev 18: Srinagar Police on Wednesday said it has arrested two drug peddlers and recovered contraband substance from their possession.
A police spokesperson said that a police party of Police Station Nowhatta during routine Naka checking at Malkha chowk, apprehended an individual under suspicious circumstances. During search, approximately 40 grams of charas-like contraband substance was recovered from his possession. He has been identified as Zubair Ahmad Ahanger, son of Amin Ahanger, resident of Kathi Darwaza.
Upon his disclosure, another individual namely Bilal Ahmad Sheikh, son of Gh. Qadir Sheikh, resident of Tujgari Mohalla, was apprehended near old Malkha Chowk. Upon his personal search, approximately 80 grams of charas was recovered, the spokesperson said.
He added that both the accused persons have been arrested, while as case vide FIR No. 56/2024 under relevant sections of NDPS Act has been registered in Police Station Nowhatta and further investigation initiated.
