Two-day Pahari Literature & Cultural Programme begins in Uri

Srinagar, Dec 03: A two-day Pahari Literary and Cultural Programme was organised by the pahari section of Jammu and Kashmir Cultural Academy on Wednesday. The first day of the programme was held today at Town Hall, Lagama Uri Baramulla, drew active public involvement and were dedicated to celebrating local literature, poetry, and cultural expression.

Pahari Section Head Mohammad Ayub Nayeem welcomed chief guest and other dignitaries.MLA Dr Sajjad Shafi attends as chief guest Those who were present on this occasion included DDC Boniyar Mohammad Ismail Khan, Mohammad Saleem, Atta Ullah Mumtaz, SHO Uri, Syed Ishtiyaq Shah, and Mohammad Iqbal Sihardi, Abdul Aziz Dachnevi, Asgar Ali Khan, Farooq Beigh, Balbir Kumar, Mohammad Saleem Beigh, Haji Shara, Mohammed Parwaz, Raja Ilyas Khan, Mohammed Syed Khan, Ex ZEO, Syed Nissar Hussain Shah, Ab Ahad Mangrial, Liaqat Abassi, Mahtab Ahmed Sheikh, Ch Nazir Bakerwal, Ajayab Khan Gingle, Ab Qayoom Chalkoo and other Pahari dignitaries.

The event, themed around the promotion of Pahari Literature and Heritage, witnessed enthusiastic participation from writers, scholars, students and cultural enthusiasts.

MLA Uri Dr. Sajjad Shafi, graced the programme as the Chief guest, highlighting the significance of preserving and promoting Pahari language and cultural identity.

The Academy extended warm thanks to all attendees for their presence and support.

The event was jointly coordinated by Adil Saleem (JKAS) and Hervinder Kour (JKAS), with attendees expressing appreciation for the efforts made to promote Pahari language, literature and art at the grassroots level in Uri.
