Two children dead, 11 hospitalised due to food poisoning at Udhampur wedding

Srinagar, Aug 02: Two children lost their lives while 11 others are undergoing treatment in Satyalta area of Udhampur in Jammu, reports said Friday.

A marriage ceremony was held in the area on Wednesday where these children had their dinner, and on Thursday several children complained of issues including diarrhea, suggesting they are suffering from food poisoning.

These children were shifted to a hospital on the intervening night of Thursday and Friday, following which two of them lost their lives, while others are presently being treated upon, officials said.

While six children are undergoing treatment at GMC Udhampur's Pediatrics ward, three are being treated upon in the emergency ward even as two others have been referred to a higher medical institute in Jammu.
