Twin UPSC Success Stories from Ladakh
Kargil, Apr 22: Two youth from Ladakh have successfully cracked the UPSC Civil Services Exam 2024, the results of which were declared on Tuesday. Ghulam Haider (AIR 633), son of Haji Ghulam Mehdi, a resident of Panikhar, Kargil, and Rigzen Angmo (AIR 848), daughter of Tsering Namgyal from Leh, have cleared the prestigious examination, bringing honor to the Union Territory of Ladakh.
Ghulam Haider, brother of Senior KAS Officer Mohd Taqi, has emerged as a symbol of hard work, determination, and perseverance. His achievement is being celebrated across the Kargil district and beyond, inspiring young aspirants throughout the region. Similarly, Rigzen Angmo's accomplishment has brought great pride to the people of Leh and has been widely lauded as a milestone for women's empowerment in Ladakh.
Local residents noted that this achievement highlights the growing presence of aspirants from Ladakh in the prestigious Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and other central services. The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has taken steps to facilitate aspirants from diverse regions, including setting up exam centres in Kargil. These success stories inspire young aspirants in Ladakh, demonstrating that with dedication and perseverance, they can overcome challenges and succeed in competitive exams.
