Tullmulla residents seek construction of tehsil building
Residents of Tullmulla in Ganderbal district have expressed their concerns over the delay in the construction of the Tehsil building and the lack of a full-time Tehsildar. The absence of a proper office building and a permanent Tehsildar is causing significant inconvenience to the community. Local residents have urged the administration to expedite the construction process and appoint a permanent Tehsildar to oversee the administration of this tehsil. Tullmulla was elevated to tehsil status in 2013 by the then Cabinet Sub-Committee, recognising its central location. Despite land being demarcated for the Tehsil building, construction work has not commenced, leaving residents frustrated.
The absence of a permanent Tehsildar available to serve the community full-time has further compounded the administrative challenges faced by the people. Local residents expressed their dismay at the lack of attention given to such an important tehsil. "We need a Tehsildar who is available throughout the week and a functional administrative office to manage the growing needs of the tehsil," said one resident. The locals emphasised that the administration must prioritise the construction of the Tehsil building and ensure the permanent appointment of a Tehsildar.
