trump’s golden age in u s is terrible

November 5 presidential election promises, uncounted speeches and innumerable interviews by candidate Donald J. Trump guaranteed that if chosen in his 2024-White House race, he will usher in a ‘golden age’ in the country. He repeated the promise in his 20-January 2025 Presidential Inauguration: Here’s what he said: “The golden age of America begins now” and vowed that the nation’s challenges would be ‘annihilated’ by his MAGA (make America great again) movement. He added: “We will be the envy of every nation, and we will not allow ourselves to be taken advantage of any longer.’’

However, Trump’s numerous adversaries opine, it may not be so easy. In fact, one of his avowed adversary instantly flunked back: it may not be so easy. But Trump will ‘face an arduous task’ delivering on his Inauguration Day promise of a “Golden Age of America” in the face of “a closely split Congress (US both houses of parliament), inevitable lawsuits and recalcitrant world leaders.” Particularly, Trump’s promises on asserting U S control of the Panama Canal, Greenland and Canada becoming the 51st state of America. Trump’s promises were termed as ‘far-reaching agenda to expand América’s territory.” Also, curbing immigration, boosting fossil fuel production and rolling back environmental regulations would pose hard to accomplish promises.

Be that as it may, since President Trump has been enthroned as the nation’s 47th president, and he is in complete command of the nation’s affairs, has been in office for nearly a fortnight, people are asking Donald Trump to effectuate his solemn commitments.

Meanwhile, there are official reports that as Trump has been in the Oval Office for over a week, he has issued nearly 250 executive orders to close the border, reinstate controversial travel bans and deport over 11 million undocumented, illegal immigrants, ‘unleash American prosperity, lower costs, increase the government transparency, and reinstitute merit-based federal government hiring, ending the affirmative action mandate.’

Deportation of illegal immigrants has already been started; the U.S. army is helping to smoothen the process. Incidentally, Prime Minister Modi has also agreed to accept back planeloads of illegal Indians detained in U.S.

President Trump has also signed series of executive orders affirming ‘the reality that there are only two sexes, men and women; stop remote work practices and directing workers to return to the offices; declared ‘national energy emergency’ to unlock America’s full energy potential and bring down costs for the people. He has also terminated the current ‘electric vehicle mandate,’ issued by the Biden Administration.

The President had promised to pardon1,500 men and women held hostages for the January 6,2021 riots, he signed an executive order to that effect on the first day: as also to end government censorship, restoring freedom of speech and ending government censorship. Trump has also issued direction to withdraw from the World Health Organization and the International Climate Change conference. The President’s order to withdraw the birthright citizenship benefits, the long-held constitutional principle that is said to hold a vast majority of people born in the U.S. are automatically citizens, but has been stalled by the courts, for now.

However, far more important for the Trump Administration for the next four years would be, ‘how to put the country on the new path at home and abroad; to manage the massive government spending cuts, tax reductions, funding the crackdown operations on illegal immigrations… gargantuan conflicts of interest, promising more government regulations and spending by DOGE, newly created department of government efficiency. The DOGE is learned to be encountering birthing issues: one of its two leaders, Vivek Ramaswamy, has quit.

There are huge probabilities that the Trump Administration could come in conflict with courts testing the constitution’s boundaries, possibly eroding American democracy; attacks on media. In addition, Trump’s doubts on NATO’s funding and defence policies… President Trump is known for his strict persona on global issues that are bound to confront stiff diplomatic and political narratives. These include: ending the Ukraine-Russia war, the middle east conflicts involving Israel and Palestine, Egypt and Syria confrontation. The China-U.S. trade competitiveness; his changing postures on the Chinese App Tik Tok – to allow it to stay or ban it. In any case the court-prescribed stay expired on January 19. But a Trump order has granted it 75-day extension. But ‘halting the ban on long-term basis could require Trump to direct the Justice Department to “deprioritize” or not enforce the law… for a specified period.

Meanwhile, a media outlet report has it that ‘Trump’s options may be limited… some allied in the US Senate and the House of Representatives have publicly reportedly bucked Trump, saying Tik Tok needs to be sold to a U.S. company, or cease operating in the U.S. immediately, as per the court verdict.’ Finally, Trump had announced that he will rename the Gulf of Mexico as the ‘Gulf of America’. Though the President can do that, but it is not clear whether it would be globally recognized. According to a recent MSNBC TV network report, Trump is likely to bring a battery of ace techs to join his administration to enable him to quickly start making recommendations and implementing changes and intertwining the tech and political interface.
