True to her name, Dr Aalishan makes proud entry into AIIMS Super Speciality
Srinagar, Jun 15: Women from Kashmir are breaking the glass ceiling and shining in fields that have long been male dominated. Dr Syed Aalishan Fatima, a doctor from Kashmir has made J&K proud by becoming the first female doctor from the UT to crack the prestigious INI-SS (Institute of National Importance Super Speciality) Entrance Exam with flying colors, and secured a berth in a sought after course.
Dr Aalishan, has secured Rank 3 in the highly competitive of INI-SS. She has had an exceptionally great academic record - DNB Radio diagnosis from the National Board of Examinations, New Delhi, and Senior Residency at SMHS and Super Speciality Hospital.
During her Senior Residency, she became a mother, but continued her journey of gaining expertise and pursuing the dream of a super speciality career, finally cracking the difficult exam with flying colours. She completed her MBBS in 2017 from Government Medical College (GMC), Srinagar and MD Radiodiagnosis from the same college after securing State Rank 13 in NEET-PG 2018.
She has dedicated her success to all the females of J&K, who she feels are capable of achieving any dream career. “Don’t let your fears stop you from stepping ahead into the uncharted territories. The world is yours to conquer,” she advised the young professionals. “Let your dreams be louder than your doubts,” she said. Dr Aalishan said her success would not have been possible without family support and has thanked her parents and in-laws, siblings and husband for the constant and unfailing support throughout her journey. She is sister to Deputy Commissioner Anantnag.
