Truce Extension | Israel, Hamas agree on 2-day additional pause
New Delhi, Nov 27: Qatar has announced that Israel and Hamas, the Palestinian militant group, have reached an agreement to extend the current truce by an additional two days. This truce has not only brought a temporary halt to the hostilities but has also facilitated the release of hostages and Palestinian prisoners.
For every 10 hostages released from Gaza, Israel proposed a one-day pause in the ongoing conflict. This novel approach has seen positive results, with freed hostages, fostering hope for a more lasting peace in the region.
In a move to keep families informed, the Israeli government has communicated that another release of hostages is scheduled for later on Monday which will be the fourth in the running.
This announcement comes as a reassurance to the affected families and signals a step forward in the delicate negotiations between Israel and Hamas. The temporary cessation of hostilities, release of hostages and the release of prisoners mark progress in the pursuit of stability and peace in the region.
