Troops in ready-mode to defeat enemy designs: DIG BSF
Jammu, May 21: Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Border Security Force (BSF) S S Mand Wednesday said that the troops were in ready-mode all along IB in Samba to retaliate with ten times more force and intensity if the enemy made any effort in the days to come to facilitate infiltration or any other misadventure.
BSF has clear, unambiguous instructions on this account, he said.
DIG Mand, while responding to queries of a select group of media persons taken for a visit along the Samba border, stated that the BSF personnel in the sector had inflicted heavy damage to Pakistan posts after it tried to facilitate a major infiltration bid on May 8, 2025.
ìIt was a big group of 40-50 terrorists, facilitated by Pakistan, trying to infiltrate through Samba IB on May 8. Our well-prepared troops went full throttle to defeat their nefarious designs and inflicted heavy losses on them (Pakistan). The scenario was war gamed so we resorted to heavy bombardment. They too retaliated yet our heavy precision strikes demolished their posts. Not only we foiled the big infiltration bid but also made the Pakistan side leave their posts. We decimated their bunkers also. They were sorted out in one and a half hours,î DIG Mand said.
He said that the presence of officers along with the troops at forward posts boosted their (troopsí) morale.
DIG Mand also lauded women troops of BSF stating they stood shoulder to shoulder with the male soldiers, meticulously and valiantly performing their duties.
