Treat Rohingyas as per humanitarian laws: Hakeem Yaseen
Srinagar, Dec 11: Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Front (J&K PDF) and former Minister Hakeem Muhammad Yaseen today sought the intervention of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah over the future of Rohingya refugees in J&K.
In a statement he appealed them to ensure their safety, security and shelter with access to all basic amenities of life like other Refugees settled in other parts of the country.
Hakeem Yaseen appealed that the refugees should be treated as per international humanitarian laws. He appealed Prime Minister and the Home Minister to take serious note of the harassment done to Rohingya refugees by vested interests in Jammu region again and again. He said the issue of Rohingya refugees is a humanitarian issue and has to be treated on humantarian grounds in accordance with the International humanitarian laws applicable to all countries across the world.
