Transformer, building damaged in Burzahama blaze

Srinagar, Mar 9: An electric transformer and a commercial complex were damaged in a fire incident at Burzahama area of Hazratbal yesterday.

Officials said that fire started from the transformer, which is mounted on a wooden platform. They said the wooden platform caught fire, and it spread to the adjacent commercial complex.

“Two fire tenders from Hazratbal and Shalimar fire stations were pressed in to douse off the flames. The fire was controlled and the attic portion of the complex and transformer were damaged in the incident,” said the official.
