Trail of destruction in Ganderbal

Ganderbal, May 19: Strong winds accompanied by rainfall on Sunday night wreaked havoc in parts of Ganderbal district with several residential houses damaged and a large number of trees uprooted.

Several houses suffered damage due to gusty winds followed by rains in Khann, Gangerhama, and Arampora areas of Ganderbal.

However, there was no loss of life or injuries.

The rooftops of several houses were also damaged by the winds.

Many trees were uprooted, disrupting the power supply as well.

Heavy winds last night uprooted dozens of trees in Peerpora, Ganderbal, causing panic among the locals.

The affected people have appealed to the administration to depute official teams to their areas and assess the losses caused by gusty winds for providing compensation.
