Traffic suspended on Kupwara-Machil road
Kupwara, Nov 16: Plains of north Kashmir's Kupwara district were drenched with incessant rains for the second consecutive day Saturday while the upper reaches received moderate snowfall, throwing normal life out of gear.
An official said that the upper reaches of Kupwara including Bangus Valley, Budnamal, Jumagand, and Kumkadi witnessed light to moderate snowfall.
However, due to the accumulation of several inches of snow at Sadhna Top, Ferkin Top, and Z-Gali, traffic was suspended on Karnah, Keran, and Machil roads as a precautionary measure.
The official said that later in the day, traffic was restored on Karnah and Keran roads.
However, traffic was yet to be restored on Machil road.
“People should enquire about the status of these roads before they start their travel to avoid any type of inconvenience,” he said.
Meanwhile, people faced a lot of problems due to water logging in parts of Kupwara town and Handwara.
