Traffic suspended on Jammu-Srinagar highway after road sinks near Ramban

Banihal, May 11: The traffic movement on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway has been stopped after a portion of highway sunk near Ramban on Sunday evening, officials said.

They said the traffic disrupted on the highway after a portion of road sunk near Maroog in Ramban at about 09:15 pm on Sunday.

PCU Traffic informed that both sides traffic has been stopped at various places after highway blocked at Maroog in Ramban.

He said the area had developed cracks after recent rains and this portion that sunk forced authorities to halt traffic.

The officials said that men and machinery have been pressed into service to ensure early restoration of the highway.
