Traffic Police gearing up for busy summer, Amarnath Yatra: DIG Traffic Jammu
Srinagar, June 12: DIG Traffic, Jammu, Muhammad Haseeb Mughal Wednesday said that preparing Traffic Police for summer challenges and Amarnath Yatra was a top priority of the department.
To have the field assessment of the summer traffic challenges on the Jammu-Lakhanpur National Highway and prepare a meticulous plan to overcome such traffic management issues, Mughal, accompanied by SSP Traffic Rural Jammu, Vinay Kumar; DySP Traffic Samba Kathua, Javaid Iqbal Tabassam along with concerned traffic officers visited the trouble spots created due to the ongoing construction activities.
The DIG Traffic held an interaction programme with field Traffic Police officers and officials at Jatwal, Samba.
The ongoing construction activities and the challenges being posed during these activities were assessed on the ground while bottlenecks and choking points were also identified.
Requisite guidelines and instructions were given to the concerned officers on the spot.
After the field inspection round, All DTIs and SOs Traffic and other officers and officials of Traffic Samba-Kathua attended the interaction programme.
The motive behind the interaction programme was to know the upcoming summer challenges like the boom in tourism, trade-transport activities, and the forthcoming Amarnath Yatra and to sensitise the Traffic Police officers and officials.
All the officers and officials who attended the interaction put forth their points of concern, and their on-field problems while handling the daily traffic and also suggested a way forward.
A large number of welfare issues were also raised by the officers and officials.
DIG Traffic emphasised developing better coordination with all construction companies and other stakeholders so that an efficient system was created to meet any traffic management challenges.
The DIG Traffic Jammu patted the traffic officers and men of district Samba and Kathua for ensuring the smooth conduct of religious functions at Vijaypur where a mammoth gathering of around 3.5 lakh yatris attended the function.
Smooth movement of the Police and CAPF during the recently conducted Lok Sabha Polls through the length and breadth of the area ensured by the meticulous deployment of the Traffic Rural Jammu was highly appreciated.
Despite the worst road conditions right from Lakhanpur to Jammu given the ongoing road construction activities, all such challenges have been met successfully by the Traffic Police.
DIG Traffic Jammu urged the officers and officials to continue with better zeal and dedication to take on the forthcoming traffic management challenges.
