Traffic diverted to old NH alignment to conduct load test
Ramban, Jan 28: The Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Banihal has issued a notice regarding traffic diversion in Banihal town on the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway.
The traffic diversion is for conducting a load test for the newly constructed flyover bridge on National Highway in Banihal town from Tuesday to Friday.
As per the notification issued by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Banihal , traffic plying from the Srinagar side will be diverted to the Old National Highway via Banihal Town. The diversion will be effective from January 28 to January 31.
This notification was issued by the SDM Banihal after the MG Contractors Pvt Ltd engaged by NHAI for the construction and up keeping of newly constructed 2.4kms newly constructed Banihal, flyover bypassing Banihal town through a communiqué intimated SDM to divert the traffic from Srinagar to Jammu National Highway to conduct load test of newly constructed National Highway.
It is notified for the information of General Public that due to conduct of load test of newly constructed Flyover bridge/ National Highway, the traffic plying on newly constructed National Highway from Srinagar side are diverted on old National Highway from Srinagar to Jammu with effect from January 28-to January 31.
Accordingly, all the traffic coming on the side of Srinagar are requested to follow the Old National Highway (Banihal Town) till the conclusion of load test of newly constructed Flyover bridge/National Highway , the notice issued by Sub Divisional Magistrate Banihal stated.
Travelers and commuters are requested to follow the alternative route via Banihal Town until the completion of the load test. Authorities are coordinating to ensure smooth traffic movement on the diverted route.
For further details, the notice has been circulated to relevant officials, including the District Magistrate Ramban, the Superintendent of traffic Police and other concerned officers.
They advised travelers to plan their journey accordingly.
