Traditional parties exploited people for own political gains: Ashraf Mir

Srinagar, Jan 3: Apni Party Provincial President Mohammad Ashraf Mir said on Wednesday that the conventional parties always kept people busy with fake promises and misleading narratives to attain power and remain in power.

He criticised the parties for their deceptive politics and misleading narratives. According to a press release, Mir was speaking a block-level public convention at Pampore.

He vowed that Apni Party has both the will and potential to bring people out of the miseries that they are in due to the years of misleading politics by the traditional parties.

The Apni Party leader said, “In 1947, the then leaders had taken a decision for the future of Jammu and Kashmir. They had chosen India for the accession. However, later, the traditional parties started misleading people through emotional sloganeering and unattainable narratives. As a result, we suffered huge losses in terms of deaths and destruction on this land over the years, especially during the past more than 30 years.”

He said that the Apni Party has emerged as an alternative that can bring about positive change on the ground. Mir said, “There are a number of experienced politicians and visionary leaders in Apni Party who have both the will and potential to change the scenario for the better.”

Mir urged the people not to fall prey to the deceptive slogans of the traditional parties anymore. He advised people to use their vote wisely to choose the representatives who will be accountable to them. He said that the people of Jammu and Kashmir have also been suffering due to the infrastructural development here.
