Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme 2026-27 | 400 Fully Funded Fellowships

The Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme (HKPFS) 2026-27, established by the Research Grants Council (RGC), offers 400 fully funded fellowships for outstanding international students to pursue doctoral studies at top universities in Hong Kong. The scheme attracts academically brilliant candidates with proven achievements, research potential, communication skills, and leadership qualities.

Application Process

Submit initial application via the HKPFS Electronic System (HKPFSES) to obtain a reference number.

Apply separately to up to 2 universities/programs, including the reference number in the university application.

Applications without the HKPFSES reference number will not be considered for the fellowship.

Each university sets its own admission deadlines—apply early.
