Time for nation to focus on our tourism sector: Tanvir Sadiq
Srinagar, May 5: The National Conference (NC) Chief Spokesperson Tanvir Sadiq today said that it is the time for nation to focus on Jammu and Kashmir tourism sector and bring the economic situation back on track.
Talking to media persons, he said that the Pahalgam terror incident had a huge impact on the tourism sector of Kashmir. “I think tourists should be sent back here. The government here and the governments abroad besides the governments of different states are trying to send tourists back to Kashmir,” Tanvir Sadiq said.
He said the way people of J&K, especially the Muslims of Kashmir stood with the country and the tourists, it has become the responsibility of the Country to support the return of tourists to Kashmir. “I think it is the duty of this country to bring our economic situation back on track,” Tanvir Sadiq.
About the reports that J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has returned the file relating to the proposed J&K Transaction of Business Rules (TBR), Tanvir Sadiq said LG has not rejected the TBR but has only raised some queries.
“Who told you that he has rejected it? Only the media is reporting that the file has been rejected. There have been some queries raised from Raj Bhawan following which the cabinet meeting was held on Monday morning and the answer to those queries have been prepared,” he said.
He said the file will be sent back to the LG’s office today (Monday).
“So I think this is a work in progress. There is a way in this which is being followed. The queries raised were answered,” he said. Notably the file related to TBR was sent by the Omar Abdullah led government to LG Manoj Sinha in early March this year for his approval. However the LG has asked the government if the necessary procedures were followed while framing the rules.
About the revival of Darbar Move, NC chief Spokesperson said that the Darbar Move was very important for both Kashmir and Jammu. “The bonding between Kashmir and Jammu was very important which remains intact because of this Darbar move. Now for some reasons, as you all know, it was closed. But we are trying to revive it,” he said.
He said that, during this summer, the Darbar Move will be in Kashmir while next winter people will get to know more about it and the promise made by CM Omar Abdullah about the revival of Darbar Move will be done,” he said.
Tanvir Sadiq, who is also MLA from Zadibal constituency said that the issues about the cleanliness drives for the water bodies were taken up with the concerned authorities.
“I have spoken to the LCMA, the department is under the Chief Minister. Now Because the government is here, a high level meeting will be held and a Jamia program will be held for the cleaning of water bodies,” he said.
He said that all the water bodies including Dal Lake, Mir Behri, Nigeen, Anchar Sar, Khushal Sar, Gill Sar will be cleaned
On Drowning incident of Kulgam youth, Tanvir Sadiq said that Minister Sakina Itoo already met the family and an inquiry has been also ordered into it as well.
“I think it is too early to talk about it. We will talk about it in a few days once we know what the truth is. There should be investigations and People should know the facts and nothing should remain hidden. At the same time we should not jump on it but should rather wait until some clarity is there,” he said.
