Tibetan spiritual leader The 14th Dalai Lama arrives in Kargil
Kargil, Jul 21: The 14th Dalai Lama on Monday arrived in Kargil district, where he will be visiting Zanskar as part of his visit to Ladakh.
The Tibetan spiritual leader, the 14th Dalai Lama who arrived in Leh last week, on a month-long visit to Ladakh. The Tibetan spiritual leader upon his arrival in Kargil was accorded a warm welcome by the district administration Kargil.
Addressing the gathering at Photang Karsha, Deputy Commissioner Kargil, Rakesh Kumar, expressed profound reverence and gratitude on behalf of the people of Kargil.
The Dalai Lama also addressed the massive gathering, offering blessings and sharing his message of peace and spiritual growth. He emphasized the deep harmony and mutual respect among religious communities in Zanskar, noting how both Buddhist and Muslim communities coexist peacefully and support one another.
He spoke warmly of the ongoing symposium’s vitality and the importance of educating both heart and mind a theme he has long championed through the Social, Emotional, Ethical Learning (SEE‑Learning) initiative. He reminded the audience: “Time is always moving on; nothing can stop it… The more compassionate you are, the more you will find inner peace.”
